Pâte de verre (glass casting) is the glass making technique which differs from glassblowing technique. Pâte de verre, is made in a mold in which powered glass of various hues is mixed, blended, and fused.

After making careers as potter over 10 years, she changed her main material from clay to glass. There is a similarity in process between pottery and Pâte de verre, both kiln work, yet Pâte de verre allows her more free creation, because she can shave the piece until very end of work process even after burning to achieve the form she wants.

The color of Hiroko Hatano is quiet and decent, yet each piece have a majestic presence like a vintage jewellery.
