Fermented and dried flower buds of trees in the Myrtaceae family, an evergreen medium-tall tree, native to the Maluku islands. It gives off a rich, sweet, pungent fragrance with an aroma that is simultaneously stimulating and invigorating.

Since it is highly effective in preserving and sterilising, it was widely used as a medicine for the stomach or as a spice.
